Cashiers (Ocho Rios & Montego Bay, Jamaica) - Delta Supply Co. Ltd

We are seeking to identify reliable and customer-oriented Cashiers to join our team at our Ocho Rios and Montego Bay Branches.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing superior customer service and ensuring accurate and efficient transactions at the point of sale.



CASHIERS - Ocho Rios and Montego Bay Branches


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly and professional demeanour throughout the transaction process.
  • Process and accept payments for all sales transactions and issue official receipts after receiving a pick-slip.
  • Calculate and return correct change when required by the payment method.
  • Verify the authenticity of cheques (i.e., ensuring that words correspond with figures).
  • Enter codes and tender type (i.e., whether cash, cards, credit notes etc.)
  • Post credit notes daily.
  • Maintain knowledge of store products, promotions, and policies to assist customers with inquiries and provide accurate information.
  • Resolve customer complaints or concerns in a calm and courteous manner, escalating issues to a supervisor when necessary.
  • Reconcile cash and cheques collected and hand them over to the accountant.
  • Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change as needed.
  • Assist with filing of invoices.
  • Ensure that manual bills and supporting documents including control sheet are attached and submitted to the accountant daily.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Level 1 ACCA /Associate degree majoring in accounting or its equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Cashier
  • Proficient in the use of SAGE Accounting Software
  • Strong mathematical skills with the ability to accurately handle cash transactions and perform basic calculations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions and maintaining records.
  • Excellent time management and reporting skills.
