Conduent Jamaica, a leading Business Process outsourcing firm will be hosting a job fair this year (2017). They need 300 workers, who will be pre-selected from a group of applicants, who will be invited to attend the job fair. This is a move away from its open-door invitations last year that resulted in the company being swamped with job seekers during their recruitment drive.
Last year thousands of job seekers arrived on the company's doorstep from St. Catherine and literally from across the island, some of whom became ill as the day progressed, having descended on Conduent from daybreak. This time around, the company will not be announcing a date for the job fair but instead seek applications online, so candidates will be on a invitation only basis.
The BPO operator is seeking to recruit 300 customer care associates however neither the date nor location of the job fair will be disclosed. Applicants are required to submit their resumes online by the latest October 6, 2017. Thereafter Conduent will compile a list of candidates who will be invited to the job fair for interviews.
Applicants for jobs at Conduent Jamaica must at minimum, have a school leaving certificate at the secondary level or HEART level 2 certification. The BPO operator revealed that the type of work performed by the team members in Jamaica includes technical support, administrative assistance, insurance claim processing, finance and accounting, payroll services, and transaction processing.
The BPO's current recruitment drive facilitates its planned expansion in the final quarter of the year. Currently the company employs 6,500 persons at 11 call centres. Jamaica is Conduent's fourth (4th) largest operation, following the United States, India and the Philippines. Its global workforce is around 130,000.
Conduent provides business services, technology and expertise which it says enables efficient workplaces for both small businesses and huge global enterprises. It also provides support for corporations operating in industries such as health care, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, retail, transportation, and high-tech services.
