Overseas Examinations Commission seeks to hire a suitably qualified person to fill the following position:

CLERICAL ASSISTANT - CAPE
Position Summary:
The Clerical Assistant will perform duties assigned by the Administrative Officer with responsibilities for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE). These activities will support all clerical aspects of the administration of the CAPE examinations in public and private educational institutions across Jamaica.

The individual should be customer-focused, self-motivated, organized, flexible, proactive, efficient and confidential with a high level of professionalism and should respond well to constructive criticism, coaching and exhibits respect for authority.

General Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the functions and tasks related to the administration of the CAPE examinations and ensure that all exam related documentation/materials received from the Examining Body are appropriately processed and disseminated to private and public schools across Jamaica.
Required skills and competencies:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for developing working relationships with a wide range of persons
  • Excellent knowledge of computer applications with specific reference to record-keeping and data retrieval
  • Excellent customer and client management skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage a varied workload
  • Excellent time management skills and organisational skills
  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Good Administrative skills
  • Distinct display of initiative, high level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Ability to work under pressure and for extra-ordinary hours

Qualificatons and Experience:
  • An Associate degree in Business Administration, Management, or any other related field from a recognized institution
  • Training in customer service delivery
  • At least three (3) years working experience
