Accountant (Kingston, Jamaica) - Atlas Group

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• First degree in Accounting or ACCA level 2
• Four (4) years in the accounting field at a supervisory level 

Core Functions:

The Accountant will support the Group Financial Controller (G. F. C.) in the day-to-day operations of the accounting department to ensure that proper internal control procedures are in place for the smooth running of all accounting functions within the Group operations. This will include but not limited to being able to prepare budget forecast, verify financial records and transactions, have a keen attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

The successful candidate should possess:

• Well-developed planning,  decision making and coordinating skills
• Logic and reasoning skill to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions 
• Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance 

Knowledge of:

• Economic and accounting principles and practices 
• The financial markets 
• Banking and the analysis, and reporting of financial data

2. Ability to inspire, motivate and provide leadership 
3. Good verbal and written communication skills
