Under the direction of the Department Superintendent, the position is accountable for:
- Providing technical guidance and support to cell leaders to analyze equipment management issues in the department
- Guiding the troubleshooting of routine operating bottle-necks and eliminate if possible, and to conduct problem-solving
- Ensuring that subordinates are provided with the tools necessary to perform required tasks
- Interacting with other departments and support groups to ensure that instrument, electrical and mechanical services are maximized
- Enforcing the use of operating and safety procedures
- Achieving the objectives of the Department Operating Plan and NFIs in coordination with other shifts
Qualifications and Experience:
To be considered the incumbent must have:
- A diploma or associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering or certified passes at GCE/CXC level or equivalent in Physics/Chemistry, English and Mathematics
- Five (5) years experience and knowledge of the Bayer Process
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
