Shift Supervisor (Kingston)

 An opportunity exists for an experienced and suitably qualified individual to fill the demanding position of Shift Supervisor within a manufacturing plant.

The key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Plan production schedules
  • Prepare plant, materials and labour for optimal production
  • Supervise production process to ensure highest level of efficiency to meet product targets, quality and safety standards
  • Troubleshoot maintenance and other problems to eliminate bottlenecks and reduce downtime
  • Conduct motivational and disciplinary measures towards ensuring optimal labour productivity
  • Prepare daily shift reports inclusive of production metrics
  • Collaborate with interfacing departments as necessary
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Associate degree or other tertiary qualifications
  • Experience in production management
  • Computer and report writing skills
  • Interpersonal and communication skills

Shift Supervisor (Clarendon, Jamaica) - JAMALCO

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitably qualified individual to fill the position of Shift Supervisor in the Raw Material department at JAMALCO.

Under the direction of the Department Superintendent, the position is accountable for:
  • Providing technical guidance and support to cell leaders to analyze equipment management issues in the department
  • Guiding the troubleshooting of routine operating bottle-necks and eliminate if possible, and to conduct problem-solving
  • Ensuring that subordinates are provided with the tools necessary to perform required tasks
  • Interacting with other departments and support groups to ensure that instrument, electrical and mechanical services are maximized
  • Enforcing the use of operating and safety procedures
  • Achieving the objectives of the Department Operating Plan and NFIs in coordination with other shifts

Qualifications and Experience:
To be considered the incumbent must have:
  • A diploma or associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering or certified passes at GCE/CXC level or equivalent in Physics/Chemistry, English and Mathematics
  • Five (5) years experience and knowledge of the Bayer Process
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills

A leading restaurant chain is seeking to employ suitably qualified persons to fill positions as Restaurant Managers, Shift Supervisors and Maintenance Technician. The ideal candidates should meet the following requirements:

Restaurant Managers and Shift Supervisors


Our restaurant leaders are required to be customer focused, detail-oriented and excellent communicators who are committed to maintaining high level operating standards. The ideal candidates should also possess:
  • Accreditation in Business Management, Food Service, Hospitality Management or related field of study
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience leading teams

Maintenance Technician

Requirements:
  • Availability and flexibility to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays
  • Ability to supervise a team of technicians while ensuring effective preventative maintenance at locations assigned
  • Sound understanding of refrigeration, air-conditioning and heating systems
  • Ability to accurately read equipment manuals and understand schematic diagrams and install new equipment for optimum functionality
  • Working knowledge of electrical maintenance to facilitate effective internal and external lighting systems
  • Sound understanding of occupational health and safety standards for restaurant and maintenance of environment
  • Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting and interpersonal skills
  • Certification in Refrigeration and Air-conditioning with a minimum of five (5) years experience as a Maintenance Technician in a fast-paced environment, preferably the restaurant business
