The Jamaica Urban Transit Company Limited seeks to recruit a Safety Officer.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational, Health and Safety or equivalent qualifications
- Three (3) years working experience in a similar capacity
- Basic First Aid training
Core Functions:
The Safety Officer is responsible for coordinating the implementation of safety programs that will eliminate hazards and unsafe conditions throughout the Company and enforce compliance with Company policies, government safety regulations and industry standards.
The successful candidate should also possess:
- Expert knowledge of laws and regulations relating to Occupational Health and Safety
- Expert knowledge of Safety regulations and procedures for equipment and buses' mechanical/electrical operations
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Excellent administrative skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of team dynamics
- Ability to work under pressure to meet stringent deadlines
- Good time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to use sound judgement
- Proven analytical skills, including ability to research and analyze data and develop recommendations and plans
