Purchasing Manager (Kingston, Jamaica)

A reputable furniture manufacturing company in Kingston seeks to identify a suitably qualified person to fill  the following vacancy:

Purchasing Manger

Duties Include:

  • Source, review, compare, analyze, and approve products to be purchased.
  • Track and coordinate the ordering, receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials
  • Maintain suitable inventory levels.

  • Oversee and coordinate all storeroom activities.
  • Ensuring that the products distributed match the requirements for the requisite jobs.
  • Manage, evaluate, and report on storeroom staff and productivity.
Requirement and Skills
  • Tertiary level certification in business, logistics, supply and chain management or a related field.
  • Proven work experience as a Purchasing Officer, Purchasing Agent, or similar role.
  • Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices.
  • Understanding of supply chain procedures.
  • Superb written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Great organizational and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of hardware and construction materials would be an asset.
