A reputable furniture manufacturing company in Kingston seeks to identify a suitably qualified person to fill the following vacancy:
Purchasing Manger
Duties Include:
- Source, review, compare, analyze, and approve products to be purchased.
- Track and coordinate the ordering, receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials
- Maintain suitable inventory levels.
- Oversee and coordinate all storeroom activities.
- Ensuring that the products distributed match the requirements for the requisite jobs.
- Manage, evaluate, and report on storeroom staff and productivity.
Requirement and Skills
- Tertiary level certification in business, logistics, supply and chain management or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a Purchasing Officer, Purchasing Agent, or similar role.
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices.
- Understanding of supply chain procedures.
- Superb written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Great organizational and planning skills.
- Knowledge of hardware and construction materials would be an asset.
