Applications are invited for the position of principal at the Randolph Lopez School of Hope, effective January 1, 2025
Job Summary:
The Principal is responsible for providing effective leadership and management of schools for students with intellectual and Developmental disabilities ranging in age from 6 to 18+ years. The job will require you to implement academic, operational and strategic plans in accordance with the MOEY's policies and procedures as well as JAID and the School Board.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor in Educational Administration with Special Education Teacher Training.
- At least six (6) years in management supervision and teaching persons with intellectual disabilities/special needs
- Certification in NCEL Professional Principal Training will be an asset.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Strategic Plan Development
- Instructional and team leadership
- Community building, networking
- Conduct Assessment and training needs for staff
Skills and Competencies:
- Leadership and effective management
- Building school/community/parental partnerships
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the relevant legislation of the MOEY and JAID.
- Familiarity of financial administration
- Knowledge Jamaican Disabilities Act.
