Excelsior Community College a Methodist institution invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following positions:

  • CSEC English Language Lecturer
  • Math Lecturer (including CSEC Math classes)
  • Lecturer - Hospitality and Tourism (8 months)

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least five (5) years' teaching experience 
  • Trained Teacher Certification
  • Masters Degree
  • Experience teaching the specific subject area
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use independent judgement and to manage and impart information.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills and experience.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Flexible and able to operate in a changing environment.
Note- The successful applicants should be willing to work in both the day and evening programme.

  • Lecturer - Renewable Energy
  • Lecturer - Automotive Technology
For the Renewable Energy position, the applicant must have:
  • Master degree in Renewable Energy or Electrical Technology or related disciplines
  • Should have knowledge in Solar and Photovoltaic systems, Wind Energy, etc
  • Strong IT background
  • Knowledge of Renewable Energy Codes and Regulations
  • Should be able to procure materials and install solar panels
  • Should possess a teaching diploma

Computer Laboratory Technician (Kingston, Jamaica) - Excelsior Community College


 Role & Core Function:

The Computer Laboratory - (EIGS/AS 2) will assist with the planning, maintenance, operations and troubleshooting for all college computing needs. This position will have primary responsibility for the efficient and effective management of computer laboratories. 

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate degree in Computer Studies or related area
  • Technical certificate in hardware/software/networking
  • At least two (2) years experience in a similar job
Requires Skills & Competencies:
  • Ability to work well independently, and also as a member of a team as necessary
  • Ability to multitask
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of computer hardware and software applications
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Printer Queues
  • Computer networking experience
  • Effective organization, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to work in a student centered environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information

Cashier (Kingston, Jamaica) - Excelsior Community College

Role & Core Function:

The incumbent will provide direct transaction services to customers, asst in the administration of the division's cashier office, deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external customer while maintaining accuracy, integrity and ensure cashier policies and procedures are followed.

Ideally candidates should:

  • Be customer service oriented
  • Be able to work on own initiative
  • Be able/willing to work flexible hours when necessary
  • Have a good attendance record
Required Qualifications/Experience:
  • Five (5) CXC/CSEC subjects inclusive of Mathematics
  • At least one (1) years experience working in a similar position
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite applications
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • A working knowledge of the procedures and practices used in registering and handling cash receipts
  • Working knowledge of ACCPAC system would be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to handle money responsibly
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
