Maintenance and Safety Technician Needed (Kingston, Jamaica) - Harris Paints

 

We are seeking innovative, performance-driven, technical, and analytical individuals to join our Jamaica team. Motivated, and have five (5) years' experience, we encourage you to apply for the position in Jamaica.

The Role

The Maintenance and Safety Technician reporting directly to the Head of Business, the candidate will be responsible for the following:

• To lead activities by strategically executing maintenance, installations and repairs that will enable the company to accurately meet internal and external service objectives.
• Ensure customer satisfaction, preventative maintenance efficiency and responsiveness are achieved through use of resources, process, and system.
• Make recommended adjustments to forecast tools and equipment upgrades.
• Integrate a QMS framework to continuously improve processes and systems.
• Implement appropriate maintenance and repair metrics (KPI's) that reflect the alignment between external and internal customer requirements.

Think you can handle this position? Do you also have the following skills or experience?

• Extensive knowledge of Electrical and Technical/HVAC/Maintenance processes. Proficient in setting up and maintaining machinery.
• Extensive knowledge of the factories act to include the safety and fire procedures.
• Strong supervisory skills
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, team building and presentation skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a local and regional team
• A strong record of achieving results and meeting deadlines.

• Strong knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and HVAC procedures
• Solid analytical, technical, and electrical skills, the ability to work alongside projects to implementation. 
• Cost and Safety reduction plans are a bonus.

1. Production worker

Do you have knowledge manufacturing or production processes? Do you have a track record of achieving results and meeting deadlines? Are you self-motivated and can work on your own initiative? The successful candidate must have at least three years' experience in a manufacturing environment, to ensure a high-quality product, the ideal applicant should understand quality control processes, safety protocols and working within a semi-automated environment. A HEART/NCTVET Certificate would be an asset. Additionally, experience operating a forklift or machinery is a definite plus.

2. Inventory worker

If you are self-motivated, dynamic, and result-oriented individual with experience in warehouse processes, we would like to meet you. Do you have demonstrated ability to work on your own directive and are self-motivated? You will focus providing excellent service to our customer internally and externally so products can be delivered on time and in full. Experience in Inventory at a warehouse is required and certification from HEART/NCTVET would be an asset.
