The National Housing Trust seeks to identify a Senior Financial Analyst for its Treasury Management Department.
Senior Financial Analyst (GRADE 8)
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager, Treasury Management Department, the Senor Financial Analyst oversees the daily management of the Trust’s investment portfolio.
The incumbent is required to review investment strategies, research financial markets, analyze investment opportunities and financial statements and recommend investments or changes in investments to manage financial risks and generate an acceptable rate of return. He/she is required to measure and evaluate return on investments and trends that may impact the investment portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate must have the following skills/competencies at above average levels:

financial reporting and analysis, investment valuation techniques, portfolio management, trading in various investments financial institution and market requirements, investment regulatory agencies’ policies, procedures, practices and standards international accounting financial principles, standards, best practices, as well as the laws and regulations governing investments, and
statistics and financial analytical tools- proficient knowledge in the principles and techniques of analyzing data, finding statics relationships, casual factors and trends.

Position Summary:

- developing and monitoring of the Unit’s Operational Plan and Budget, Risk and Procurement Plans
- assisting in the development and implementation of operational systems, policies and procedures to guide the daily investment activities
- managing the Trust’s investment portfolio and databases, systems and securities inventory
- identifying investment risks and implementing control mechanisms to mitigate against risks
- managing NHT’s Expected Credit Loss model for corporate credit exposures
- conducting market research and gathering market intelligence to enhance the management of the Trust’s investment portfolio
- providing analytical support for recommendations on investment policy, asset allocation, security repurchases and funding strategy
- developing and monitoring employees’ work plans and conducting performance appraisal, and
- preparing and submitting periodic analysis reports and representing the Unit and Department at meetings, conferences and other fora, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounts, Finance, Management Studies, CFA, ACCA Level III, CPA or an equivalent accredited qualification from a registered and accredited tertiary institution.
- At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar capacity of which three (3) years must be in investment portfolio management.
The successful candidate must have the following skills/competencies at above average levels:
- Research and technical writing

- Critical thinking and analytical
- Problem solving and decision-making
- Communication (oral and written)
- Listening and negotiating
- Interpersonal and time management
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications relevant to the job
- Management and Supervisory.
