Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Research Assistant, University of the West Indies, Vice Chancellery. The Centre for Reparation Research is seeking to hire a Research Assistant for the period August 1, 2020 to July 31, 2021.
The Research Assistant should have a solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, and database management, as he/she will also conduct literature reviews or field research including running focus groups.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Master's degree in History with specialization in Caribbean History;
- Excellent research, analytical and proposal writing skills;
- An aptitude for research, dissemination and advocacy including via various media;
- A knowledge of critical issues in human rights and global movement for reparatory justice;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Excellent time management skills; and
- Good written and verbal communication skills
The successful candidate should also have a good work ethic, the ability to work on his/her own and a willingness to maintain confidentiality and to travel in the course of his/her own duties.
