Cashier at the Caribbean Military Academy (CMA)
Candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
- Nationality: Be a citizen of the Commonwealth
Minimum Professional and Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma with CSEC subjects including Mathematics and English
- At least one (1) year experience in a related field
Key Competencies:
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
- Willingness to work within a military environment
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare cash receipts for bank deposits; prepare daily cash reports and balances the cash drawer, reconciles cash, check, and credit card receipts daily, and investigate and resolve any out-of-balance problems
- Assist individuals in the accurate application of their transactions, and when necessary, research records on electronic and other available files to provide information regarding financial status
- Provide information to patrons regarding pertinent rules, policies and procedures related to cash and cash related transactions
- Maintain confidentiality of Academy and student records
- Ensure all necessary cash management functions are carried out in a timely manner to meet any stipulated deadline
- Set up accounts, post invoices, prepare routine bills, and file cashiering documents
