Description of Role

Under the direction of the Executive Assistant in the President’s Office, this position receives and transmits telephone calls, responds to general enquiries and completes and distributes various documents related to the function.

The incumbent is expected to speak clearly, distinctly and with a friendly, courteous tone and use listening skills to put callers at ease and obtain accurate, complete information.

Requirements

  • Have at least five CXCs inclusive of English Language and Mathematics.
  • Be computer literate and be familiar with the Microsoft suite of programmes
  • Have at least two years working experience in a similar position.
  • Must be polite and courteous when answering the telephone
  • Skills in the operation of telephone equipment
  • Skills in dealing diplomatically with internal and external customers.
  • Have good interpersonal skills with the capacity to deal effectively with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate a high level of tack, discretion and diplomacy and maintains confidential/sensitive information.
  • Be able to work under pressure.
  • Be flexible with work schedules and works on own initiative and manages time well
  • Have good communication skills (written and oral)
