Principal
(effective January 1, 2023)
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Provide strong leadership for a high performing secondary school by;
- Providing inspired leadership to the instructional programme.
- Developing and maintaining associated activities to provide a rounded educational experience to approximately 1500 students.
- Ensuring the programmes of Christian formation.
- mandated by the Board is implemented.
- Energizing and working closely with major stakeholders, particularly the parent body, the alumni and the community in the achievement of the school's goals.
- Participating in the development of strategic plans for the school and leading in their implementation.
- Making recommendations to the Board of Management on policy directions to be followed.
Required Qualifications
- A trained graduate, with qualifications in Educational
- Administration. A post-graduate degree would be an asset.
- At least five (5) years' experience as a teacher-with at least three (3) in a supervisory role.
- Professional integrity and honesty.
- An understanding of the Jamaican educational landscape.
- Strong, inter-personal and team-building skills.
- Strong communication skills including use of current ICT tools.
- Knowledge of the laws governing the public education sector in Jamaica.
- Knowledge of human resource management regulations and techniques.
