Principal

(effective January 1, 2023)

The successful candidate will be required to:

• Provide strong leadership for a high performing secondary school by;
• Providing inspired leadership to the instructional programme.
• Developing and maintaining associated activities to provide a rounded educational experience to approximately 1500 students.
• Ensuring the programmes of Christian formation.
• mandated by the Board is implemented.
• Energizing and working closely with major stakeholders, particularly the parent body, the alumni and the community in the achievement of the school's goals.
• Participating in the development of strategic plans for the school and leading in their implementation.
• Making recommendations to the Board of Management on policy directions to be followed.

Required Qualifications

• A trained graduate, with qualifications in Educational
• Administration. A post-graduate degree would be an asset.
• At least five (5) years' experience as a teacher-with at least three (3) in a supervisory role.

Required Competencies

• Professional integrity and honesty.
• An understanding of the Jamaican educational landscape.
• Strong, inter-personal and team-building skills.
• Strong communication skills including use of current ICT tools.
• Knowledge of the laws governing the public education sector in Jamaica.
• Knowledge of human resource management regulations and techniques.
