The Firearm Licensing Authority invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following positions:
Director of Investigations (GMG/SEG 4)
Salary Range: $3,154,073.00 to $3,749,202.00 per annum plus applicable allowances. The individual will be working in the Division of Investigation and report to the Chief Executive Officer.
Job Purpose
Direct the Authority's programme of investigation in collaboration with the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
Required Competencies
Core
- Excellent knowledge of office practices and procedures

- Good time management and organizational skills.
Minimum Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree (Business, Management or equivalent) Attorney-at-law.
- Five (5) years related experience including three at supervisory level.
- Experience managing (and improving the efficiency of) a dynamic department involved in fieldwork activities.
- Training in the conduct of security investigations.
Senior Human Resource Officer (GMG/SEG 1)
Salary Range: $1,640,253.00 to $1,949,746.00 per annum, plus applicable allowances. The applicant will be working in the division of Finance and Administration and reports to the Manager, Human Resource Management and Department.
Job Purpose
To employ a range human resource best practices that will support the Manager, Human Resource Management and Department in achieving organizational efficiency and effectiveness in the coordination, monitoring, implementation and Administration of Human Resource activities. In addition to the supervising the Unit's staff to aid in the smooth functioning of the Unit and providing general advisory information of Managers and Directors as per the Authority Human Resource Policies and Procedures Manual.
Required Competencies
Technical:
- Good knowledge and Understanding of the Staff Orders, Human Resource Policies and Procedures Manual and other related GOJ polices and procedures.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Human Resource Management (HRM) principles and practices. And
- Proficiency in the use of relevant computer applications.
Core:
- Good decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good organizational and planning skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Good customer relations and interpersonal relationship building skills.
- Ability to lead and manage teams and projects.
- Ability to use initiative.
- Ability to work in a methodical manner.
- Ability to exercise a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
Minimum Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or any related field from an accredited tertiary institution.
- Three (3) years' related working experience and
- Supervisory Management is an asset.
