Applications are invited from suitably qualified employees to fill the following post within the Traffic Division (Manchester) of the Police Department.
Data Clerk (MIS/IT 1)
Job PurposeThe incumbent is responsible for inputting data into relevant database as well as transcribing routine pre-coded information, verifying data for accuracy and completeness in accordance with prescribed standards of speed and accuracy.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Managerial/Administrative Responsibilities:
- Examines traffic tickets and inputs data in the Traffic Ticketing Issuing System (TTIS)
- Rewrites tickets on carbon sheet for long term eligibility
- Scans and saves traffic ticket images
- Reports malfunctioning equipment or any other constraints which might prevent the timely completion of assignments
- Identifies and corrects errors which become evident in the data entry process
- Enters all traffic tickets in order of court dates
- Responds to queries from internal and external customers as necessary
- Records information for tickets that cannot be entered on the Traffic Ticketing Issuing System
- Prepares and submits weekly/monthly reports
- Conducts research and ensures accuracy of information
- Validates team members daily entries and ensures consistency and accuracy
- Lists outstanding tickets for payment at the Court offices from Intec (previous traffic ticketing solution)
- Updates tickets paid at the collectorates that exist as outstanding in the Intec database
- Prepares driving records requested by individuals or companies
Other Responsibilities:
- Performs other related functions assigned from time to time
Minimum Required Education & Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) CXC/GCE subjects including English Language and a numeric subject
- Computer literate
- Typing speed of 60 wpm
- One (1) year related experience
