Job Purpose

The incumbent will assist individuals in achieving more effective personal, social, educational and vocational development and adjustment.

Key Responsibility Areas:

Technical/Professional Responsibilities

  • Collects information about clients, using interviews, case histories, observational techniques and other assessment methods.
  • Assists clients to understand personal or interactive problems, defines goals and develops realistic action plans.
  • Develops therapeutic treatment plans based on individual interest, abilities and needs of clients.
  • Selects, administers or interprets psychological tests to assess intelligence, aptitude, ability or interests.
  • Analyzes data, such as interview notes, test results and reference manuals and texts to identify symptoms and diagnose the nature of the clients' problems.
  • Maintains client documentation and records to reflect care provided and meet professional standards.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client records.
  •  Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
  • Counsels and support caregivers.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Performs other related functions assigned  from time to time by the Paramedical Director.
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree in Counselling/Clinical Psychology
  • Two (2) years' experience in an adult patient/client setting.

Data Clerk (Manchester, Jamaica, W.I.) - Jamaica Constabulary Force

Data Clerk (MIS/IT 1)

Job Purpose

The incumbent is responsible for inputting data into relevant database as well as transcribing routine pre-coded information, verifying data for accuracy and completeness in accordance with prescribed standards of speed and accuracy.

Key Responsibility Areas:

Managerial/Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Examines traffic tickets and inputs data in the Traffic Ticketing Issuing System (TTIS)
  • Rewrites tickets on carbon sheet for long term eligibility
  • Scans and saves traffic ticket images
  • Reports malfunctioning equipment or any other constraints which might prevent the timely completion of assignments
  • Identifies and corrects errors which become evident in the data entry process
  • Enters all traffic tickets in order of court dates
  • Responds to queries from internal and external customers as necessary
  • Records information for tickets that cannot be entered on the Traffic Ticketing Issuing System
  • Prepares and submits weekly/monthly reports
  • Conducts research and ensures accuracy of information
  • Validates team members daily entries and ensures consistency and accuracy
  • Lists outstanding tickets for payment at the Court offices from Intec (previous traffic ticketing solution)
  • Updates tickets paid at the collectorates that exist as outstanding in the Intec database
  • Prepares driving records requested by individuals or companies

Other Responsibilities:
  • Performs other related functions assigned from time to time
Minimum Required Education & Experience:
  • Minimum of four (4) CXC/GCE subjects including English Language and a numeric subject
  • Computer literate 
  • Typing speed of 60 wpm 
  • One (1) year related experience

Job Purpose:

The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance of an effective and efficient file management and mail dispatch system, ensuring safe custody and efficient retrieval of records and a reliable automation  and manual records management system. 

Key Outputs
  • Manages the mail dispatch function of the Division, ensuring that mails are delivered within specified time frames
  • Logs files to Records Clerk for filing
  • Conducts desk audits to ensure files are filed within specified time frame and according to the established format
  • Oversees the conduct of file inventories and updates all filing systems
  • Manages requests for files and ensures that service levels are maintained in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Monitors the movement of files and updates system accordingly
  • Manages the Bring-up system and ensures that files are submitted to relevant persons on specified dates
  • Monitors the issuance/movement of files to ensure that files are accessed only by duly authorized persons
  • Manages the stamp system, ensuring continuous availability
  • Ensures consistency and accuracy of information within the Unit
  • Develops, implements and maintains a system for tracking files
  • Provides report on desk activities
  • Ensures backup of filing systems
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of four (4) subjects at the CXC or GCE 'O' level including English Language and a numeracy subject
  • Training in Records and Information Maagement

Job Purpose

Minimum Required Education and Experience:
  • Graduate from a recognized institution with a certificate/diploma in records management and two (2) years relevant experience, or
  • Training in Library Science and/or archival procedures from a recognized institution and three (3) years experience in the field or a similar environment, or
  • High School graduate with four (4) CXC/GCE O' subjects including English Language and numeracy subject, training in records and information management systems, procedures and practices and automated technologies as it relates to records management and/or the area of operation. Seven (7) years experience in a similar environment, or
  • Any other combination of training and experience that would yield the necessary skills needed at this level
