Supervisor - Loans, Mortgage

Job Scope: The incumbent manages the loans servicing department and is responsible for the administration of all mortgage loans. Ensures accurate and timely servicing and closing of the loan portfolio. The position also provides support to the credit and project loans committees of the Credit Union.

Key Responsibilities:

The functions of the position include but are not limited to:-

  • Supervise and lead a team of loan officers to ensure the goals and objectives of the unit are achieved.
  • Ensure mortgage applications are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory guidelines and credit union policies.
  • Review and analyze loan documentation, credit reports, and other relevant information to assess creditworthiness and determine loan eligibility.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of mortgage products, rates, and terms offered by the credit union.
  • Act as a resource for members and staff regarding mortgage-related inquiries and provide guidance throughout the mortgage process.
  • Makes presentations to the Credit, Project Committees and League.
  • Monitors payments and arranges collection of arrears on mortgage and project loan accounts.

Qualification, Experience and Key Competencies:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related fields.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar position or environment.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent project evaluation and risk analysis skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent research, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, team building and interpersonal skills.
  • Possesses a high degree of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
