Credit/Loan Officer (Kingston, Portmore, Brown's Town, Sav-la-mar & Montego Bay) - Worldnet Microfinance Ltd

Worldnet Microfinance Limited invites applications for the following positions:

CREDIT/LOAN OFFICERS for its: Spanish Town, May Pen, Brown's Town, Mandeville, Christiana and Montego Bay branches. 

Duties & Functions:

The Credit Officer is required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional manner:

  • To market and promote the company’s loan products which includes visits to business places, companies and taxi stands etc.
  • To maintain existing customers and propel the growth of new customers
  • To interview and process loan applicants
  • To ensure that loan applicants meet all the requirements prior to processing
  • To give prospective applicants information regarding the company’s products by phone and in person
  • Maintaining monthly production average in accordance with production target
  • To develop and implement strategies to significantly grow the company’s portfolio at the branch
  • Assist in the design and implementation of marketing plans for the company’s loan product which would include but not limited to: 1. Advertising 2.Promotional activities
  • Review and follow-up delinquent accounts on your loan portfolio
  • To practice proper office hygiene which includes ensuring that the office is kept in a clean and tidy manner
  • Ensure that clients leave a Google review after interaction with the company
  • Any other duties which may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications:

  • GCE 'O' Levels, CSEC or CAPE
  • One (1) to two (2)  years working experience as a Credit/Loan Officer would be an asset

  • Must be analytical and have excellent problem solving and decision making skills

Qualifications & Experience Required
  • At least a first degree in Business Administration or Marketing (completed)
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in Sales/Lending

Core Responsibilities
  • Create and execute marketing initiatives to generate prospects and convert to sales
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Interview prospective customers to determine eligibility for loans
  • Process loans on the Company’s loan management system in a timely manner
  • Generate accurate loans contracts/documents
  • Follow up with loan prospects via telephone, email or other approved methods

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the team, you will be assisting the Senior Loans Officer in the effective initiation, generation, management and maintenance of the loan portfolio. Additionally, you will also assist in the planning and co-ordinating of the marketing activities of the Credit Union with a view to meeting its annual growth target.

The primary purpose of the role will be to:
  • Conduct loan interviews and process loan application ensuring that the applicable loan policy is fully understood by all members.
  • Liaise with the General Manager and Credit Committee to obtain approval of loans.
  • Assist members in obtaining loan balances, share balances and general information on products.
  • Ensure that all information for the deduction of shares and loans for weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls are sent to the respective payroll departments in time to meet the specified deadlines(s).
  • Prepare the monthly and fortnightly exception reports.
  • Assist in the coordinating of the Credit Union’s seminars.
  • Assist in the preparation of the delinquency report monthly and follow up for regularization of loans via telephone calls, letters, etc.
  • Prepare Credit Reports for members on their written requests.
  • Prepare all correspondence regarding security for loans and release letters regarding the discharge of securities.
  • Monitor and ensure that the Credit Union’s interest is noted on all securities (Inland Revenue, National Security Interest in Personal Property (NSIPP) and Insurance companies.
  • Ensure that all motor vehicles used as security are insured and that a log is maintained.

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in management studies, accounting or finance.
  • One (1) - three (3) years’ experience in a bank or credit union environment would be an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and possess the ability to work effectively with others.
  • High level of confidentiality, ethics, integrity, creativity, intellectual curiosity, persistence and achievement orientation.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to foster good relationships with members, co-workers and company/department heads.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite [EXCEL, Word etc.]

Job Scope: The incumbent manages the loans servicing department and is responsible for the administration of all mortgage loans. Key Responsibilities:

The functions of the position include but are not limited to:-

  • Supervise and lead a team of loan officers to ensure the goals and objectives of the unit are achieved.
  • Ensure mortgage applications are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory guidelines and credit union policies.
  • Review and analyze loan documentation, credit reports, and other relevant information to assess creditworthiness and determine loan eligibility.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of mortgage products, rates, and terms offered by the credit union.
  • Act as a resource for members and staff regarding mortgage-related inquiries and provide guidance throughout the mortgage process.
  • Makes presentations to the Credit, Project Committees and League.
  • Monitors payments and arranges collection of arrears on mortgage and project loan accounts.

Qualification, Experience and Key Competencies:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related fields.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar position or environment.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite.

Loans Officer - SME (Kingston)

Job Purpose

The Loans Officer - SME will be responsible for underwriting mainly SME loans to include tasks such as; risk analysis, and negotiation. The incumbent will also be required to interface directly with clients or in partnership with a business Development Officer throughout the credit decision making process.

  • Preparing loan applications mainly for business loans while ensuring that applications submitted for approval are of a high analytical standard.
  • Conducting financial analysis with sound credit lending practices as well as, accuracy of content and any other pertinent information that is available.
  • Conducting risk assessment in order to assign appropriate risk rating to customers based on information that is available.
  • Analyzing non-performing loan accounts and make appropriate recommendations for restructuring and improved management.
  • Verifying audited financial statements and other accounting records in other to obtain information regarding the financial health of clients being serviced.
  • Liaise internally with Operations/Business Development and Marketing/Collections personnel, as required, to resolve issues and to facilitate prompt and efficient loan processing for clients.

Qualification, Experience and Attributes:

  • A Diploma or first degree in Business Administration or Marketing (completed).
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in Sales/Lending.
