Manager - Finance and Treasury
Core Functions
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective and efficient maintenance of the Credit Union's Accounting Records, the Management of Cash and other Assets, the Recording and Reporting of financial results for ensuring that the operations of the Accounts Department are carried out in compliance with all International Accounting Standards and Regulatory Requirements for financial institutions, in order that the JPS and Partners Credit Union achieves its Mission, Vision and major targets.
The incumbent is also responsible for managing and monitoring Investment Accounts, initiating the investment process and monitoring related activities.
Other Major Functions
- Ensure the preparation of the Credit union's monthly and annual Management Accounts.
- Prepare the annual Budget and Cash Flow Projections and monitor the Credit Union's performance against approved budget.
- Review, recommend and implement appropriate accounting policies,systems and procedures to govern all areas of responsibility and ensure observance by employees.
- Coordinate the annual Corporate Planning process and ensure that the budget is completed and approved on time.
- Manage the investment process by daily reviewing cash balances, identifying funds available for investment and monitoring the investment accounts.
- Monitor local and international developments and trends in the financial market to identify any critical market information that could impact the organization.
- Ability to meet critical regulatory reporting deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post Graduate degree with major in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) qualification or equivalent.
- Certificate in Financial Security Management.
- Five (5) years' experience at a senior level in finance, accounting and investments in a financial institution.
Knowledge and Key Competencies
- In-dept knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost and investment principles.
- Excellent knowledge and application of International Accounting Standards and other generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to analyze financial and investment data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
- Sound knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, money market, currency transactions and product profitability analysis.
