Job Overview:

The Security Officer handles ensure that we maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
  • Obtains help by sounding alarms.
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
  • Controls traffic by directing drivers.
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Be willing and receptive to feed back.
  • Be a proactive team player.
  • Be receptive to other duties as they arise.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude while on the job.
Evaluation of Performance:

The Security Officer will be evaluated regularly to ensure the position is impacting the organization in the most positive way. Key objectives that will be tracked and reviewed will be discussed with the Direct Manager upon hire but will definitively be determined by meeting minimum job requirements.

Reporting Structure:
Direct Report: Facilities & Transportation Supervisor up to VP, Operations

Requirements
Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift heavy items.
  • Previous experience as a Security Officer is a plus
