ACCOUNTANT – Receivables and Inventory Monitoring Finance Department
ROLE AND FUNCTIONS OF JOB:
Under the general direction of the Finance Manager, the Accountant has responsibility for ensuring that the National Health Fund’s Accounting Functions are operational. To achieve this, the incumbent shall:
- Exercise responsibility over the maintenance of the Accounts Receivable Sub-ledgers, Inventory Module and General Ledger Accounts.
- Financial reports are produced in accordance with regulatory framework and accounting standards.
- Determine training and development needs of the accounting staff and make recommendations to the Finance Manager.
- Assist in providing timely, accurate financial reports to Management and the Board.
- Perform duties in accordance with accounting policies and procedures manual.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- The National Fund Health Act.
- The Financial Administration & Audit Act.
- Financial accounting.
- Basic management principles and practices.
- Computerized financial accounting systems and spreadsheet applications.
- Working knowledge in computerized inventory management system.
- Degree in Accounting or Management or Level II ACCA.
- Supervisory Management experience would be an asset.
- Minimum of three (3) years accounting experience; experience in Pharmaceutical Warehousing would be an asset.
- Must have working knowledge of Great Plains or any other accounting system.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
