CASHIER


Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and process payments made by clients and ensure that the information is accurately entered in the accounting system.
  • Prepare and issue receipts for all funds received on behalf of the company.
  • Safeguard all cash received on behalf of the company.
  • Prepare and balance daily lodgments for review by the Cash Management Officer.
  • Maintain petty cash in accordance with established procedures
  • Prepare petty cash reimbursement as needed.
  • Provide support to Centralized Payables Unit
  • Monitor/Manage cheque payment received from Payables Unit by getting first and second signatures from authorized signers
  • Perform other duties in the Insurance Segment that may be assigned as deemed necessary.
  • Upload ALL Finance invoices in Oracle Fusion for payment.

Minimum Qualification, Experience and Skills
  • Diploma in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Passes in Four (4) CXC/GCE Subjects including Mathematics and Accounts
  • Two (2) years’ experience in cashiering, Accounting or Finance Department would be an asset
  • Knowledge of accounting practices and standards
  • Working knowledge of accounting software would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets and Word.
