PLANT SUPERINTENDENT

We are seeking a proactive, hands-on individual to join the Best Dressed Feed Mill team in
the above capacity. He/she will be responsible for the management of Production and Milling operation with oversight on an efficient maintenance programme within the Feed Mill. The selected candidate should have a thorough knowledge of instrumentation and controls, as well as:


  • A First Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution;
  • Formal training in Management Principles and Practices.
  • Working knowledge in Project management and computerized maintenance systems.
  • Working knowledge of safety and environmental practices;
  • Training in Feed Mill Technology would be a distinct advantage;
  • Well-developed analytical and diagnostic skills;
  • Well-developed human relations skills and the ability to lead and motivate a diversified workforce;
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of practices and rates applicable to the local construction industry.
  • Knowledge in Heavy and Lifting equipment fleet management.
  • Sound knowledge of Industrial Relations practices and labour laws.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles would be an asset.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Excellent work ethics, communication and time management skills;
  • A Valid Jamaican Driver’s Licence.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing plant operation/industry.
