Quality Assurance Technician (Old Harbour, St. Catherine) - Jamaica Broilers Group

The Best Dressed Chicken Division of Jamaica Broilers Group Limited is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in food science or a related field, along with a deep understanding of poultry and meat products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality assurance activities on products, production processes, and materials.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, HACCP, Risk Management, Allergen Control, GMP, and other relevant standards.
• Perform sensory evaluations and organoleptic assessments.
• Analyze and interpret data to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain standardized tests for products and materials.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and trends.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Microbiology, or a related field.
• Thorough knowledge of poultry and meat products and their processing.
• Working knowledge of ISO, HACCP, Risk Management, Allergen Control, GMP, sensory evaluation, and organoleptic techniques.
• Strong understanding of food microbiology and statistical process control.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment, would be an asset.
• Formal training in animal welfare practices.
• Knowledge of government and industry quality assurance and regulatory standards.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, diagnostic, and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
• Valid Food Handlers' card.
• Willingness to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays, if required.
• Open to working on a contractual basis.
