Duties:

Qualifications (must haves):

Experience:

WHAT YOU WILL DO: Christel House Jamaica seeks a Kitchen Assistant to perform various cleaning, preparation, and stocking duties in the school’s kitchens. They wash dishes, help cooks prepare meal, snacks, ingredients and clean kitchens.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of daily breakfast and lunch menus that meet nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements.
  • Assist to accommodate special dietary needs and food allergies, as necessary.

Education and/or Experience

  • HEART certification in food preparation
  • Has the ability to cook in bulk (for 500+ persons) would be an asset
  • Proven experience helping in kitchen settings.
  • A food handler's permit.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to safely use kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety standards and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Job Summary

The Flight Data Processor (FDP) is an entry-level position along a progressive career path towards becoming an Air Traffic Controller in Jamaica. The FDP's primary duty is to assist the Air Traffic Control Offier (ATCO) in fulfilling the primary objectives of air traffic services and act as a point of contact for flight information. 

He/She is required to coordinate petinent information on air traffic to adjacent Flight Information Regions (FIRs) and Air Traffic Service Units (ATSU) in accordance with specified Letters of Agreement (LOAs).

FDPs prepare flight progress strips, update and manage flight plans (FPL) using the flight data display system (FDD).

Additionally, she/she is required to manage, correct and forward air traffic information using the ATS Message Handling System (AMHS) or any other appropriate communication channel.

Candidates selected for training must satisfy the following minimum requirements:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 20 years old
  • Have eight (8) CSEC passes at Grades 1 or , to include the following:
    • Mathematics
    • English Language; and 
    • One (1) Science subject including Geography, Physics, Chemistry or Information Technology
    • Three (3) CAPE passes (Units 1 & 2) at Grades 1 or 2

OR

  • Be between the ages of 21 and 24 years old
  • Have completed a Bachelor's of Science degree

AND

  • Three (3) CSEC passes at Grades 1 or 2 to include:
    • Mathematics
    • English Language; and
    • One (1) Science subject including Geography, Physics, Chemistry or Information Technology

Data Entry Officer (Kingston, Jamaica) - Integrity Commission


 Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Human Resource Manager, incumbent is accountable for the input/update/processing of personnel data on a daily basis, using computer, information from files or
completed forms to update the MyHR+ Software System.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Liaises with the Human Resource Officer to request/retrieve process and return personnel/employees files to storage cabinets/vaults;
  • Enters and verifies data obtained from personnel files to the computer system;
  • In conjunction with the Human Resource Officer accurately capture and update MyHR+Systems with each employee leave (vacation/sick/department);
  • Checks to ensure that accurate data has been entered into the MyHR+ system;
  • Prepares data entry screen for recording each employee leave in a spreadsheet format.
  • Secure entered information by creating data backup on a periodic basis;
  • Maintains leave records on behalf of each employee;
  • Advises the Human Resource Officer of mal-functioning equipment or other constraints which may prevent timely completion of assignment.
  • Exercises the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Performs such other related tasks, functions or duties, as may, from-time-to-time, be assigned by the Human Resource Manager or the Director, Corporate Services.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reconcile payments in High Jump with related End of Day documents
  • Escalate discrepancies identified to appropriate personnel’s for action
  • Prepare daily haulage report
  • Prepare daily lodgements and receipts
  • Post and update all customers’ accounts in IFM
  • Collect and apply payments to the accounts of walk-in customers

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Minimum five (5) CSEC passes including English A and Mathematics/Principles of Accounts with at least one (1) year experience working
  • Good communication skills – both in written and verbal formats with the ability to communicate with varying levels of staff
  • Trained in the use of MS Office productivity tools (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
