The Best Dressed Chicken Division of Jamaica Broilers Group Limited is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in food science or a related field, along with a deep understanding of poultry and meat products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality assurance activities on products, production processes, and materials.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, HACCP, Risk Management, Allergen Control, GMP, and other relevant standards.
- Perform sensory evaluations and organoleptic assessments.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain standardized tests for products and materials.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and trends.

- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Microbiology, or a related field.
- Thorough knowledge of poultry and meat products and their processing.
- Working knowledge of ISO, HACCP, Risk Management, Allergen Control, GMP, sensory evaluation, and organoleptic techniques.
- Strong understanding of food microbiology and statistical process control.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment, would be an asset.
- Formal training in animal welfare practices.
- Knowledge of government and industry quality assurance and regulatory standards.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, diagnostic, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
- Valid Food Handlers' card.
- Willingness to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays, if required.
- Open to working on a contractual basis.
