Montego Bay Community College invites applications for the post of: Senior Secretary (OPS/SS3).
The successful applicant should possess:
- An Associate degree in Business Administration/business management or its equivalent
- Certification in Secretarial Studies from an accredited institution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Proficiency in project writing skills
- Three (3) years experience as a Senior Secretary
Preferred Attributes:

- Ability to work on own initiative and operate effectively and efficiently under pressure
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent team player
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Facilities the smooth operations of the offices of the Vice Principals, through the preparation of correspondence, record keeping and the provision of excellent customer service
- Performs administrative and secretarial duties for the Vice Principal of Academics and Vice Principal of Administration and Development
- Records minutes and perform secretarial duties as Secretary of Committees
- Assists with designing programmes, flyers, brochures etc. for college activities inclusive of graduation and valedictory service
- Maintains the proper record keeping of important documents, e.g. overseas exam results, school leaving certificates, degrees, stake holder's correspondence, contracts, minutes of meetings etc
- Issues time tables and exams results for external examination bodies
- Issues certificates CXC, GCE, CAPE and CCCJ degrees
- Researches, complies and analyses data and information for a variety of internal and external documents
- Maintains calendars, schedules appointments and meetings, receives visitors, answers routine queries on behalf of the Vice Principals
- Prepares letters of recommendations, disciplinary letters, and letters of verification for students
- Composes, types and proofreads a wide variety of correspondence, memoranda, proposals, contracts and reports
