Restaurant Lead Chef (Kingston & St. Andrew, Jamaica)

A growing restaurant in a fast-moving area is seeking an experienced, creative chef to lead our culinary team. This team member must demonstrate passion and pride for delighting people with food.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for daily serving, and catered events
  • Deliver meals to quality standards and in keeping with food safety regulations
  • Assist with menu planning and cost control
  • Coordinate kitchen staff and oversee all kitchen operations
  • Training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items
  • Manage stock of ingredients and equipment, and place orders for replenishment
  • Enforce safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Create new recipes to keep the menu fresh

Requirements:
  • Culinary degree or diploma
  • At least three (3) years experience in a commercial cooking environment
  • Advanced knowledge of the culinary arts
  • Portfolio of creative, unique dishes
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Exemplary work ethic in a high pressure environment
