Elementary School Spanish Teacher (Kingston, Jamaica) - American International School of Kingston (AISK)

The American International School of Kingston (AISK) is an independent preschool through grade 12, seeking to fill the following temporary vacancy from April - June 2024:

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SPANISH TEACHER

Duties include, but are not confined to: 

• Displaying evidence of superior preparation for classroom instruction
• Displaying competence in using media and integrating technology
• Planning and implementing strategies that encourage student self-discipline, reinforce appropriate behaviour, manage disruptive constructively and allows for grouping of students in the most efficient way to support learning objectives
• Collaborating with staff in other grades and content areas to promote Spanish language initiatives and cultural awareness

Requisites:

• Degree in relevant field along with Teacher certification
• Fluent in Spanish
• Extensive knowledge of the ES Spanish curricula, with an expertise on developing ES Spanish speaking and cultural skills with students
• At least two (2) to five (5) years teaching experience preferred
• Experience as a teacher at the Elementary Level
• International teaching experience an asset
• Valid police certificate required
