Continental Baking Company is seeking to recruit Electrical Technicians, who will be responsible for providing electrical engineering support for its operating plants and facilities. He/she will work within a multi-skilled team environment, where equipment reliability, cost containment and process improvement are monitored and measured as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Core Functions- Provide technical electrical support to the maintenance and engineering teams, to ensure that all production equipment, facilities and machinery are properly maintained and functioning optimally, using applicable preventative maintenance techniques/systems.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and root cause analysis of electrical problems on all machines, equipment and processes, ensuring accurate and prescriptive resolutions which are timely, cost effective and improves efficiency; able to work in a mutli-project environment.
- Assemble, install, assess, test, replace and maintain all electrical or electronic wiring, systems, motors, equipment, pneumatics, appliances, apparatus and fixtures, using appropriate tools; execute the layout and installation of industrial, electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and correct malfunctioning electrical systems, devices, sensors, motors, apparatus and components; respond to emergency situations.
- Able to follow, read and interpret engineering diagrams/drawings, blue prints, schematics, equipment manuals, Company standard operating procedures (SOP) and processes, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications.
- Ensure full adherence to and compliance with all health, safety, quality, environmental, regulatory standards and protocols.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering and/or equivalent qualification.
- Level 3 Certification in Industrial Electrical Maintenance.
- Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years’ work experience in a similar position. Experience in a manufacturing facility would be an asset.
- Functional proficiency in computerized systems, engineering software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Sound knowledge of diagnostic/troubleshooting techniques, preventative maintenance and food safety techniques.
- Sound human relations, communication, time management, organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of project management, instrumentation and controls would be an asset.
- Highly professional, ethical and of integrity.
- Required to work on shift, weekends and public holidays, to meet operational demands.
