Applications are being invited from suitably qualified applicants to fill the following positions within the Clarendon Division of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
Secretary (OPS/SS 1) - May Pen Police Station
Job Purpose
The incumbent provides secretarial support to the Division.
Key Outputs
- Types letters, minutes and memoranda
- Takes messages and answers queries
- Photocopies documents (cheques, letters, etc)
- Minutes of meetings convened are circulated
- Assists with the updating of the attendance register, leave book and medical journal
- Attends meetings and assists with the recording of decisions and actions taken
- Maintains register for incoming and outgoing mail
Other Responsibilities:
- Performs other related functions assigned from time to time by the Officer in charge
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
- Graduation from a Secondary School with English Language at the CXC or GCE 'O' Level and typewriting at a speed of 30 - 35 words per minute
Or
- Successful completion of a course of study at an accredited Secretarial School with proficiency in typewriting at a speed of 30 - 35 words per minute, and English Language at CXC or GCE 'O' Level
- Knowledge of word processing software (basic level) would be an additional asset at this level
