Asset Management Assistant (Kingston, Jamaica) - Sagicor Life Jamaicans Ltd.


Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is looking for the ideal candidate to join our Treasury and Asset Management team in the capacity of:  Asset Management Assistant (Contract)

Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Assist with all administrative functions related to X Fund which involves liaising with finance, legal, and the other persons relating to specific properties and assets owned.
  • Organize and file company documents.
  • Assist with Monitoring and ordering department supplies
  • Ensure that all mortgage files received are processed for approval.
  • Monthly preparation of reports relating to pension assets under management
  • Maintains records related to Real Estate developments
  • Schedules meetings and conferences, making necessary arrangements for meeting rooms and equipment.  Records minutes where required.
  • Assist in coordinating various special operational projects.
  • Assist with Compilation  of presentation reports and meeting materials.
  • Develops, designs and maintains information in spread sheets and data base programs

Required Qualifications/Skill-Sets:
  • Associate's Degree in Office Administration or Secretarial Science
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • 5 Years’ experience preferably within a financial institution
  • Excellent working knowledge of: file maintenance, English grammar, appropriate standards regarding letters, memorandum, minute taking, composition, and proper telephone etiquette
  • Advanced PC and software application skills; ability to operate a 10 key by touch
  • Good math skills and ability to understand/calculate percentages and fractions
  • General understanding of basic accounting principles in order to monitor budget expenditures and maintain accurate expense records for accounts payable and internal audits
  • Excellent understanding of department operating practices and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a competent and professional manner
  • Proven experience of banking documentation essential.
  • Good problem solving, communication and customer service skills essential.
