Receptionist/Telephone Operator (Kingston, Jamaica)



Job Functions will include:
  • Operating switchboard to relay incoming and outgoing calls
  • Log in customers, visitors and suppliers and issue visitors' pass
  • Obtain and circulate lunch menu to staff each afternoon, and place lunch orders by the designated cut-off time each morning
  • Receive, record and distribute incoming mail
  • Record and distribute cheques to creditors and file cheque listings
  • Maintain record of international and cellular calls and prepare monthly summary
Job Requirements:

Education:
  • Certificate in Telephone Techniques/Customer Service
  • Three (3) CXC/GCE subjects including English and Mathematics

Specific Knowledge
  • Customer Service
  • Telephone Techniques
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
Required Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize work
  • Good judgement/initiative
Work Experience:
  • One (1) to three (3) years experience in a similar capacity
