System Administrator (Kingston, Jamaica) Jamaica Defence Force (JDF)

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) invites suitably qualified persons to enlist in the JDF, filling the following position as a Professional Entry Enlisted Rank: System Administrator.

Your team will design, extend, configure and support a reliable, secure and efficient IT infrastructure.

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

Nationality: Be a citizen of the Commonwealth

Minimum Professional and Educational Requirements:

• Associate degree in Information Technology or four (4) years work experience administering Microsoft Servers and Domains. MCSE: Server Infrastructure, CompTIA Server+ or equivalent certification is desirable
• Minimum of three (3) years experience administering Microsoft Servers and Domains

Key Competencies:

• Managing Microsoft Network Domain; setting up domains and forests, auditing user accounts, applying security patches, developing and deploying Group Policies Objects
• Managing Web, Internet, Email and collaboration platforms
• Developing baseline security standards and hardening production servers
• Managing and configuring firewalls; analysing, interpreting and actioning server and firewall logs and alerts
• Administering IBM Power 8, IBM Spectrum Protect and VMware environments
• Have an aptitude and desire to assimilate to military life
