The CHASE Fund is an agency of the Government of Jamaica providing funding support to projects in Culture, Health, Arts and Early Childhood Education.

The Fund invites applications to fill the position of SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR.

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the the running of the Fund's Management Information System and the maintenance of the Fund's network infrastructure to include desktops, laptops, servers, network equipment, software applications, exchange and cloud solutions. 

The Systems Administrator will assess and identify appropriate solutions to be integrated into the Fund's systems operation and make recommendations for implementation.

Duties & Responsibilities of the job:

  • Administer and secure the LAN for the organization
  • Administer Windows Active Directory and Microsoft 365
  • Design, document and implement various systems
  • Develop, monitor and maintain procedures for all server backups
  • Perform computer maintenance procedures and management of updates
  • Make recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with the various vendors for procurement
  • Assist in the inventory of all hardware and software resources
  • Provide administrative support for the Information System
  • Configure, implement and maintain various technologies

Key Competencies:
  • Solid knowledge of configuration such as Cisco routers and twitches, internet firewalls and wireless technology
  • Ability to set up and manage database systems, SQL Server
  • Ability to manage Microsoft 365 and Azure
  • Sound knowledge of data and network security
  • Familiar with hyper-v/virtualization

Job Summary

The System Technician is responsible for ensuring the stable operation of the in-house and cloud-based ICT infrastructure and services. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all hardware, software, and communication links. The incumbent will also analyze and resolve end-user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user training where required.

He/she is required to ensure that the data in the IT Service Desk is up to date and provide responses to users in a timely manner in keeping with the IT Service Standard. An important focus of the role is to fulfil the Department's desktop Support obligation through a combination of remote support and hands-on assistance to end-users.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science or related subjects from a recognized institution.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL v4) Foundation Certificate.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in the administration and maintenance of Information Communication Technology Infrastructure platforms. 
This must include one (1) year experience supporting any of the following:
  • Microsoft 365, Microsoft Windows Server and Azure Active Directory.
  • Cisco Network, PBX, Firewall and Security Services
  • VMWare/Veeam Infrastructure
  • McAcfee End Point Security Software.
Key Technical/Occupational Competencies
  • Working technical knowledge of ICT networks and Server and PC operating systems, including Windows and linux.
  • Extensive application supports experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Windows operating systems.

IT Systems Administrator

Overview:

The IT Administrator will be responsible for supporting the head of the department and the wider solutions team in his/her capacity of developing and maintaining the desktops, servers, and network systems throughout the organization. The incumbent will work with the wider team in a collaborative way to extend the skill of the multi-functional team. Limited "out of hours" work may be required from time to time and travel to other locations will be required to provide support and install IT equipment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • To install and configure computer hardware, networks, operating systems, and applications (desktops and servers).
  • To monitor and maintain computer systems and networks including Voice Over IP (VOIP) telephony and various site internal connections.
  • To troubleshoot system and network problems and diagnose and solve hardware/software faults.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor IT related systems for two (2) companies in two (2) locations.
  • Act as a liaison between companies and external agents.
  • Monitor PBX Systems to ensure functionality.
  • Monitor POS Systems  and communicate issues with suppliers.
  • Monitor company website and Social Media Platforms.
  • Preparing website with proper coding and content pertinent to company webpage, landing pages and supporting pages.

Communication: Communicating with clients, supervisors and staff helps everyone to understand the problem and potential solutions. Clearly stating the situation, following through with emails and phone calls and sharing resolutions will make the process flow smoothly.

Endurance: will be required to work long hours with complicated projects, the ability to stay focused on the objective is key. May be involved in the relocation of servers, hardware and peripherals that are important to the operation of the business.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Two (2) plus years' of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance.
  • Sage, Keystroke, Moaware and any Network Associate accreditation will be an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform a range of duties to effectively support the Management Information Systems (MIS) Department. These include but are not limited to the following:

Qualifications, Experience and Key Competencies

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent (e.g. Relevant Microsoft Certifications).
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience administering Microsoft Windows Servers including Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, IIS and preferably also SQL server.
  • Three (3) years' experience in deploying and maintaining Microsoft office applications and Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experience in designing, troubleshooting, and administering WAN/LAN networks.
  •  Experience in Salesforce is an asset.
  • Two (2) or more years' experience in Microsoft SharePoint is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server 2012 R2, Microsoft SQL Server 2012, Server Load Balancing, Virtualization (e.g. Hyper V).
  • Working knowledge of switches, routers and firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of data storage systems such as Network Attached Storage devices (NAS).

Edge Chem Jamaica Limited is seeking a System Administrator to be primarily responsible for the administration, maintenance and support of our Windows Server Infrastructure and related services.

This position requires knowledge and experience dealing with the implementation and issue resolution of Microsoft Windows Server technologies and services running versions 2008 to 2012. The Board of Management invites applications for following position(s):

Systems Administrator May 2022

The successful candidate will be responsible for all functions related to the availability and performance of the school's computer equipment including hardware, operating Systems and related components.

Requirements:

  • First Degree in Computer Science/Management Information System or related discipline.
  • A minium of three (3) years' working experience in systems administration.
  • Advance knowledge of and ability to support Windows Server/Desktop Operating System and application infrastructure.
  • Experience in Citrix2Xterminal Server installations; Server Virtualization technologies (eg.WNWare or Microsoft) and Linus/Unix administration.
  • Experience in LAN routing and Switching design, configurations and troubleshooting (VLANs, IP Subnetting, 802. 1Q trunks).
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional-CCNA/CCNP.
  • MCITIP Server Certification would be a highly advantageous asset.

APSE COACH

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Special Education.
  • Primary Education training will be an asset.
  •  Knowledge of the NSC.
  • Two (2) years' working experience would be an asset.
Computer Laboratory Technician (IT) 

Minimum Requirements

  • Five (5) CSEC Subjects including Information Technology and other related Certification.
Building Furniture Teacher

  • Degree in construction or woodwork.
  • Competent in AutoCAD drawing
