The National Works Agency an Executive Agency of the Government of Jamaica, is seeking suitably qualified individuals for the position of Project Officer.
Qualifications and Experience:
- B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- At least five (5) years experience in administration of projects
- Good project scheduling techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound knowledge of relevant computer application and systems
- Sound knowledge of budgeting practices
- Highly developed technical report writing and oral communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Team player
Highlights of Principal Functions:
- Plan and administer assigned major projects
- Liaise with consultants and contractors to ensure timely execution of projects
- Coordinate the preparation and signing of consultants' contracts
- Monitor and ensure proper processing of certificates and timely payment of bills
- Supervise or monitor projects or project segment
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records
- Liaise with Contractors, Utility Companies and Government Agencies to facilitate smooth implementation of project/project segment
- Prepare estimate and preliminary designs
- Perform any other duties assigned from time to time
