Cashier, Inventory Officer, etc (Kingston, Jamaica)



 Location: Kingston, Jamaica

POSITION: Project Officer
We are looking for a Project Officer to coordinate Project activities. You will guarantee a smooth and efficient process by monitoring team members and organizing workflows.
Ensure professional standards of work are maintained and projects are completed on-time and within budget.
Duties:
  • Organize Project Meetings Maintain Project Documents
  • Identify Problems or Risks Manage Project
  • Schedule Occupational Health & Safety
Requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years’ work experience in the field Valid Driver's License

POSITION: Tool Room Clerk
Oversees the entire tool room and its functions.
Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment in industrial establishment by performing the following duties:
Duties:
  • Maintain and manage tool room clerical functions.
  • Maintain and update records of tool room equipment, tools and kits.
  • Issue tools, kits and equipment to the concerned departments. Ensure return of issued tools, kits and equipment back to the tool room after use.
  • Check for damages or unusable condition of tools, equipment, and kits.
  • Organize tools and equipment on shelves and racks for easy access.
  • Maintain tool room equipment manuals, processes, and operational guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in the field
  • Valid Driver’s License

POSITION: Inventory Officer
The Inventory Officer (IO), keeps track of inventory, overseeing shipments and deliveries, and keeping the warehouse organized.
In addition to the organizational skills and physical strength required to manage and store inventory, the position also requires the ability to manage any administrative and clerical details necessary to keep the warehouse running smoothly. The IO processes orders, accepts deliveries, and keeps the warehouse organized, which includes everything from physically moving products around the warehouse space to properly maintaining all shipping and receiving records. Selecting suppliers to provide the goods and services needed to run the business.
Duties:
  • Sales & Customer Service Sourcing Inventory Management Warehousing
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in the field Valid Driver’s License

POSITION: Cashier
We are looking for a Cashier to manage all transactions with customers accurately and efficiently. Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments and issuing receipts, keeping track of all cash and credit transactions. Ultimately, you’ll ensure all transactions run smoothly and will help us maximize customer satisfaction.
Duties
  • Manage transactions with customers using cash registers Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
  • Collect payments whether in cash or credit Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
  • Redeem stamps and coupons
  • Cross-sell products and introduce new ones
  • Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
  • Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
Requirements:
  • Work experience as a Retail Cashier or in a similar role in sales
  • Computer literate
  • Familiarity with electronic equipment, like cash register and POS

Project Officer (Kingston, Jamaica) - Tourism Enhancement Fund

 Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position: 

Project Officer


Salary Range: $2,073,951 - $2,520,901 per annum plus applicable allowance

Core Functions

  • To evaluate, report and recommend projects to be executed
  • To develop project scope (designs) as a part of project execution process
  • To provide oversight to consultants and contractors
  • Develop relevant documentation such as TOR's and reports to aid project execution
  • Site inspection and reports as a part of project oversight
  • Monitor and evaluate project expenditures
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or other equivalent professional qualification
  • Specialized training in Project writing, appraisal, monitoring and evaluation and general project management
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in project/programme management
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
  • Strong focus on quality and performance with within schedule and budget
  • Excellent project writing, appraisal and monitoring and evaluation
  • A working knowledge of project planning and analysis
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Computer literacy, including the use of project management software, database, spreadsheet and word processing applications

Project Officer - Level 5 - National Works Agency (Kingston, JM)


The National Works Agency an Executive Agency of the Government of Jamaica, is seeking suitably qualified individuals for the position of Project Officer.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • At least five (5) years experience in administration of projects
Skills:

  • Good project scheduling techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sound knowledge of relevant computer application and systems
  • Sound knowledge of budgeting practices
  • Highly developed technical report writing and oral communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Team player

Highlights of Principal Functions:

  • Plan and administer assigned major projects
  • Liaise with consultants and contractors to ensure timely execution of projects
  • Coordinate the preparation and signing of consultants' contracts
  • Monitor and ensure proper processing of certificates and timely payment of bills
  • Supervise or monitor projects or project segment
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records
  • Liaise with Contractors, Utility Companies and Government Agencies to facilitate smooth implementation of project/project segment
  • Prepare estimate and preliminary designs
  • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time
