Public Relations Officer (Kingston, Jamaica) - Recycling Partners of Jamaica

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with all RPJ's stakeholders
• Write press releases and prepare information for the media to promote
• Respond to requests for information from the media
• Develop programs to maintain favourable public and stakeholder views of the RPJ's agenda and accomplishments
• Plan and implement PR strategies to influence public opinion and promote recycling 
• Maintain the organization's image and identity
• Drat speeches and schedule ingterviews
• Prepare and edit organizational materials, including employees newsletters and other publications for internal and external audiences
• Update and maintain organization's digital content

Knowledge and Experience:

• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of consumer marketing, content marketing and digital marketing
• Ability to make media pitches
• Creative thinking
• Research skills
• Inquisitive
• Deadline-driven
• Reporting skills
• Attention to detail
• Social media savvy

Functional Skills and Abilities:

• B.A. in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or Marketing
• Experience in the position of Public Relations Officer or Marketing Officer
• Experience in handling a press conference and organizing events
• Qualifiable experience with content creation and copy writing
