Cost Accountant:
Tastee Jamaica Limited is seeking to hire a Cost Accountant, who will
be responsible for planning, collecting, auditing and analyzing financial
data to determine the cost of business activity and will be responsible for directing activities relating to product costing, product manufacturing analysis, and inventory valuation. The position provides recommendations to senior management and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze costs and preparing periodic reports and conduct product line analysis for management review
• Prepare various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information for various customers as needed
for decision making support
• Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirementsand internal controls
• Analyze inventory reports and variances and manage internal
controls as it relates to inventory to accurately account for inventory
costs
• Responsible for conducting and or facilitating inventory counts and preparing reports for the inventory
• Prepare month end reports and analyze and post journals
• Assist with the preparation of budgeting reports and cost forecasts
Qualification and Competence Requirements:
• Have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent Professional Accreditation and at least ACCA Level 2
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position
• Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Office suite
and SAGE 300 ERP Accounting Software
• Knowledge of accounting best practices, laws, standards, and
state/national regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles (GAAP)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Accurate and precise attention to detail
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
