The Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority, a statutory body of the ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport, is seeking to recruit candidates interested in pursuing a career with a global impact in aviation.

Job Summary
The Flight Data Processor (FDP) is an entry-level position along a progressive career path towards becoming an Air Traffic Controller in Jamaica. The FDP's primary duty is to assist the Air Traffic Control Offier (ATCO) in fulfilling the primary objectives of air traffic services and act as a point of contact for flight information.
He/She is required to coordinate petinent information on air traffic to adjacent Flight Information Regions (FIRs) and Air Traffic Service Units (ATSU) in accordance with specified Letters of Agreement (LOAs).
FDPs prepare flight progress strips, update and manage flight plans (FPL) using the flight data display system (FDD).
Additionally, she/she is required to manage, correct and forward air traffic information using the ATS Message Handling System (AMHS) or any other appropriate communication channel.
Candidates selected for training must satisfy the following minimum requirements:
- Be between the ages of 18 and 20 years old
- Have eight (8) CSEC passes at Grades 1 or , to include the following:
- Mathematics
- English Language; and
- One (1) Science subject including Geography, Physics, Chemistry or Information Technology
- Three (3) CAPE passes (Units 1 & 2) at Grades 1 or 2
OR
- Be between the ages of 21 and 24 years old
- Have completed a Bachelor's of Science degree
- Three (3) CSEC passes at Grades 1 or 2 to include:
- Mathematics
- English Language; and
- One (1) Science subject including Geography, Physics, Chemistry or Information Technology
- Have no defects of speech, hearing or sight
