Job Overview:

The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in coordinating the activities of the kitchen to ensure efficiency and the highest quality standards for the satisfaction of the customers.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate Time, Temperature and CTR sheets to all kitchen staff.
  • Aid in the preparation of meals by demonstration, and by monitoring the preparation of meals, observing color and texture; and taste testing to ensure thatall meals meet airline specifications.
  • Ensure good hygienic practices in the preparation and storage of meals.
  • Ensure that workstations and all equipment used are properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained
  • Assist in cost control
  • Assist the Executive Chef in the preparation for presentations and recipe engineering.
  • Supervise, guide, train, motivate and discipline kitchen staff.
  • Adhere to all quality, safety and security standards and procedures.

Qualifications and skills:
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    The Cannabis Licensing Authority invites applications for the position of

    Registrar (PIDG/RIM 4)
    Salary: (PIDG/RIM 4) $1,148,458.00 - $1,365,156.00 per annul plus any allowances attached to this post.

    Job Purpose

    Reporting to the Director, Human Resource Management and Administration, the Registrar ensures that the operations of the Authority are enhanced and supported through effective records management using methods and techniques.

    Key Responsibilities 
    • Collaborates with the Chief Executive Officer, the other Senior Officers and Division Heads to develop and maintain the Authority's Records Management policy;
    • Develops and enforces short-term and long-term records management strategy
    • Participates in the development, tracking, optimizing and enforcing of short-term and long-term records management budgets
    • Ensures the integration of records management with the customer service platform to serve the  Authority and it's stakeholders in every aspect; utilizing web enabled security-controlled access portals,  popular social media interfaces and mobile-friendly applications/platforms 
    • Oversees the design, setting up, maintaining, reviewing and documenting of records system; identifying the most appropriate records management resources; advising on and implementing new records management policies, procedures and systems;
    • Ensures the development and implementation of retention and disposal schedules 

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies 
    • Good oral and written communication skills 
    • Good interpersonal skills 
    • Good problem-solving, decision-making, planning and organizing skills
    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications 
    • Excellent knowledge of government records management practices and procedures 
    Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience 
    • A Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or Library Science from a recognized institution 
    • Formal training in records management and Information systems, procedures and practices and automated technologies as it relates to records management 
    • At least three (3) years experience in a related field with at least two (2) years in a similar senior position
    • Formal training in Library Science and/or archival procedures from a recognized institution is desirable

    Assistant Registrars in the Office of the Campus Registrar support the Campus Registrar in various areas of work which may be best described
    as academic and general – the recruitment, admission and registration of students, the conduct of examinations, the staging of major Campus events, human resource management and development, records management, secretariat services, relations with other bodies and with the public, and university publications. While having unique responsibilities in a particular area, an Assistant Registrar must be prepared to work across any area of the Office of the Campus Registrar (The Registry).

     The Assistant Registrar, Graduate Studies and Research, is responsible for the management and supervision of the operations of Graduate Students Recruiting, Admissions, Enrollment Management, Thesis Examination, Graduate Scholarships; Graduate Students’ Assessment; and Award of Higher Degrees and Diplomas within the Office of the Campus Registrar. The incumbent is expected to handle multiple responsibilities, solve complex problems and ensure that administrative systems and processes meet service expectations and strategic goals for admissions and registrations. In addition, the incumbent acts on behalf of the Campus Registrar and has delegated signing authority on behalf of the Campus Registrar.

    The Assistant Registrar – Graduate Studies and Research, in addition to other duties, will perform the following functions:
    • Provide senior administrative level leadership for the UWI Mona Campus and its satellite sites in the areas of admissions and enrollment management;
    • Maintain a synchronous relationship with the Director for Graduate Studies and Research to, inter alia, ensure that the University’s administrative processes and procedures assist students to complete their degrees within the time limits specified for their degrees/ diplomas;
    • Act as the expert and resource on graduate students’ admission and
    enrollment management regulations;
    • Provide direction on the day to day operations for Graduate Admissions
    and Enrollment Management, Graduate Students’ Assessment; and consults with other areas of the Office of the Campus Registrar to ensure coordination of services and effective use of resources;
    • Manage the operational budget of the Office of Graduate Studies and Research.

    Candidates who possess the following will be at a distinct advantage:
    • Knowledge and awareness of the operations of a higher education institution;
    • Knowledge of registrarial processes from recruitment to graduation;
    • Knowledge of policies, procedures and practices related to student
    affairs.

    Dispatcher (Advanced Integrated Systems) - Kingston, JM

    An IT solutions and reprographic company is seeking an experienced Dispatcher.

    The Dispatcher prioritizes service requests/calls and dispatches information to the appropriate service personnel: service technician, logistics person, sales and administration persons.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Clocks technicians in and out daily 
    • Communicates with the customer in a professional manner to schedule service calls 
    • Schedules service calls and preventive maintenance for technicians based on priority, location and type of equipment 
    • Dispatches information necessary to complete a service call to technicians in designated areas. Closes calls and generates daily call report when finished 
    • Monitors the open call report to ensure response times are met
