Jamaica Teachers' Association Co-op Credit Union Ltd (JTACCUL) is inviting applications from qualified persons to fill the post of:
Receptionist/Telephone Operator (PSG 2)
Job Scope:
Reporting to the Office Service Supervisor, the Receptionist/Telephone Operator (PSG 2) is responsible for the professional and efficient management of of visitors, clients, telephone calls and messages, as well as a variety of clerical duties that support the organization.
Core Functions:
The functions of the position include but are not limited to:
- Answers the telephone, screens and directs calls
- Greet persons entering the organization and provide direction or information as required
- Notify staff members of visitors as required
- Provide information as required about the establishment such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization or services provided
- Make outgoing calls as requested
- Maintain accurate log of all calls placed for staff and customers
- Seek and keep up to date with new information on the products and services offered by the organization
- Assist with issuing promotional materials to customers
- Assist in the completion of Tele-Loan Applications
- Assist in the ordering of supplies and refreshments
- Ensures that all documents collected or disbursed are properly signed for and recorded
- Respond to queries
- Receive and distribute mail, faxes and deliveries
- Photocopy, fax and scan documents
- Report phone problems
- Observes and maintains strict adherence to established health and safety policies and practices
- Performs other clerical and receptionist support duties as required/assigned from time to time
Qualifications and Experience:
- Five (5) CXC/CSEC or GCE O level passes including English Language, Mathematics and/or Accounts
- Specialized training in customer service or office/Business Administration would be an asset
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar position
- Knowledge of switchboard/telephone systems
- Proficiency in the use of standard office equipment
- Proficiency in the use of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to be a flexible team player
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, to multi-task and cope with changing priorities
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Maintain high level of confidentiality
