Administrative Assistant (Kingston, Jamaica) - National Education Trust

The National Education Trust (NET) is seeking to recruit a qualified individual to fill the following position:

Administrative Assistant - Accounts and Procurement 


Responsibilities:
  • Collate special and recurring Unit reports by gathering, compiling and preparing information from various sources 
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies for the Unit and all associated records 
  • Manage the calendars of the senior managers of the Unit
  • Attend meetings, record and transcribe minutes 
  • Draft response on matters for which authority has been delegated 
  • Compose and type bulletins, schedules, agendas and other documents as directed 
  • Maintain computerised and manual files and records 
Minimum Required Skills, Education and Experience:
  • Good time management and organizing skills 
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity, initiative, confidentiality and professionalism 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Keen attention to detail 
  • Good judgement 
  • Sound knowledge of office practices and procedures 
  • Excellent typing skills 
  • Strong computer and internet research skills 
  • Proficient in records management 
  • Knowledge of GoJ procurement policies and procedures 
  • First degree in Business Administration /Administrative Management, Finance or a related field 
  • Three (3) years working experience in an administrative position 
  • Experience in a procurement environment would be a valuable asset
