Livestock Attendant (Old Harbour, St. Catherine, Jamaica) - CB Group

 


The Livestock Attendant is responsible for the day-to-day routine animal care and general farm tasks to ensure the well-being of the animals.

Main Responsibility:

  • Daily animal husbandry tasks
  • Work as a team player by accomplishing daily department work requirements and farm goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely production information and records as required.
  • Assist in moving animals and maintaining efficient animal flows.
  • Treat sick animals with a variety of pharmaceuticals by injection, oral application, and/or other methods as required.
  • Assist with maintaining barn, including sanitizing and washing multiple areas on the farm using high pressure equipment, as well as office cleanliness and laundry duties.
  • Flexibility with a willingness to change plans according to the direction of farm leadership.
  • Adhere to the Company’s animal care policies and procedures including: providing a physical environment that meets the animal’s needs, providing access to adequate water and high quality feed, providing humane treatment of the animals, providing identification and appropriate treatment of animals in need of health care and following the guidelines for euthanasia.
  • Abide by all company policies, procedures and guidelines as directed by farm leadership, including but not limited to:
    • The Company’s Safety Program, understanding all safety requirements of the job and performing the job in compliance with those safety requirements.
    • The Company’s bio-security protocols
    • Acceptable monitoring of cobwebs, pests & insects, and complete required documents to aid in any form of traceability exercise and report generation.

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Diploma in Agriculture (major animal science)
  • At least two (2) years’ working experience in animal production.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Good work ethic
  • Physical and demonstrated experience in animal husbandry and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to change.
  • Ability to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Possessing a valid Driver’s license is an asset.

Tractor Operator (CB Group) - Kingston Jamaica

The incumbent will be required to utilize tractors equipped to move products and other items around the facility in a safe and appropriate manner. Responsibilities include the loading and unloading of trucks, supporting control with inventory documentation and full adherence to safety compliance regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Operating heavy duty equipment
  • Assist with the cleaning of vessels and wharf area.
  • Manually load and unload materials from pallets, etc.

The Database Administrator is responsible for the effective operations of the server and database infrastructure to ensure integrity and availability of data and systems are maintained. The DBA will also plays a major role in performance tuning for mission critical systems and enhancing the company’s disaster recovery capabilities.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Installing and maintaining the performance of database servers.
  • Developing processes for optimizing database security, management and maintenance.
  • Mapping out the conceptual design for a planned database.
  • Refining the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model
  • Installing and testing new versions of the database management system (DBMS).
  • Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)
  • Developing and maintaining documented backup, restoration and disaster recovery procedures for applications, server and database infrastructure, and conducting routine Disaster Recovery exercises on a regular basis.
  • Carrying out capacity planning
  • Administering applications and databases as assigned, through but not limited to the following:

  • One or combination of certifications or equivalent experience: MCSA: Windows Server 2008/2012, SQL Server 2008/2012

Assistant Accountant 


The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for the timely preparation of weekly and monthly reports for assigned Divisions/Entities. Assignments may also include assisting with the preparation of monthly reviews and analytical reports.

The Assistant Accountant will primarily focus on:

  • Ensuring timely preparation of weekly and monthly reports
  • Preparing journal entries as assigned
  • Ensuring all relevant accounting schedules are completed within stipulated timelines 
  • Preparing reconciliations as assigned e.g., bank accounts, prepayments, payroll elective deductions liabilities, clearing accounts, sub-ledgers, etc.

Maintenance Technician (Hanover, Jamaica) - Caribbean Broilers (CB Chicken)

Maintenance Technician


Maintenance Technician is responsible for carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance tasks, pre-operational checks and repairs in order to maintain a safe and efficient Plant.

The Maintenance Technician will primarily be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and maintaining all plant systems as assigned
  • Performing a wide variety of maintenance-related repairs and services (refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, welding and plumbing)
  • Completing pre-operational checks and scheduling tasks prior to the start of the daily production
  • Performing and documenting corrective and preventative maintenance on key support equipment
  • Troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining various facility components which may include, but are not limited to, HVAC, air compressors, refrigeration and boiler systems
  • Alerting the Maintenance Foremen on duty of any unusual occurrences and/or damage that has taken place or that may occur
  • Ensuring that Maintenance Foremen are kept informed of all corrective and preventative maintenance activities
  • Responding to 24-hour emergency maintenance requests

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in Maintenance or a related field

 The Payroll Clerk is primarily responsible for the calculation and disbursement of the fortnightly and temporary payroll across the Group.

 The Payroll Clerk will primarily focus on:

  • Computing salaries and deductions.
  • Calculating and disbursing relevant approved incentive payments.
  • Timely preparation of fortnightly and temporary payroll.
  • Administration of statutory tax deductions.
  • Reviewing time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information in order to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
  • Recording employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, in order to maintain and update payroll records.
  • Providing information re: statutory payments. 

In order to perform these duties to the highest level the ideal candidate will possess: 

  • 3-5 years’ experience in an equivalent role
