Administrative Assistant (Kingston, Jamaica) - National Land Agency


 Salary range: $3,501,526.00 - $4,709,163.00 per annum

This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer;

Job Purpose:

  • To provide direct and confidential administrative support to the CEO, ensuring effective and efficient workflow with the internal and external customers
  • To perform, coordinate and oversee administrative and secretarial duties as required but the CEO

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree in Management/Administration or relevant certification in secretarial disciplines
  • A minimum of three (3) years related experience
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Sound knowledge of NLA's operations, products and services would be an asset

Supervisor, Final Accounts and Reporting (Vacant Post)

Job Purpose:

Under the general direction of the Manager, Financial Reporting supervises the activities of the Final Account Unit within generally accepted accounting practices, established organizational guidelines, and maintains the computerized accounting system.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Management Studies, or ACCA Level 2 with five (5) years' of relevant experience in an accounting environment; or
  • Associate Degree in Accounting from a recognized institution or AAT (Level 3) or CAT (Level C) qualification level seven (7) years' of relevant experience in an accounting environment
  • Certificate in Supervisory Management

Supervisor, Property Accounts (Vacant Post)

Job Purpose
To ensure that funds are appropriately accounted for in accordance with the FAA Act, Regulations and Instructions and the policies and procedures of the Agency.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Management Studies, or ACCA Level 2 with five (5) years' of relevant experience in an accounting environment; or
  • Associate Degree in Accounting from a recognized institution or AAT (Level 3) or CAT (Level C) qualification at least seven (7) years' of relevant experience in an accounting environment
  • Certificate in Supervisory Management
  • Two (2) years' experience in a supervisory accounting position

Job Description:
CASHIER

This position reports to the Manager, Management Accounting.

Job Purpose

To collect and record on behalf of the Agency, all payments for services offered and ensure the safe custody and prompt lodgement of these payments in accordance with the FAA Acts, its Regulations and Instructions as well as the Agency’s Policies and Procedures.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:

The following qualification is required:
  • Five (5) CXC/GCE subjects including English Language and Mathematics or Accounts
  • One (1) year related working experience
  • Working knowledge of a computerise cash remittance system would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of the FAA Act, Regulations and Instructions in relation to procedures for collecting, receipting and custody of revenue.

DRIVER

(1 POST – MONTEGO BAY)

(5 POSTS – KINGSTON)

This position reports to the Transport Supervisor.

Job Purpose

To transport staff and equipment to and from assignments and ensures the timely delivery of mail and other correspondence to their destination in keeping with established guidelines.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:

The following qualification is required:
  • High School/Secondary School Leaving Certificate
  • Holder of a General driver’s licence to include Motor Cars, Trucks (not less than 3000 kgs laden weight) and PPV Licence should be without traffic violations or endorsements
  • Minimum of three (3) years related working experience
  • Training or exposure in customer service would be an advantage.

Internship - Systematic Land Registration Programme (Jamaica) - National Land Agency

Internship-Systematic Land Registration Programme

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a One (1) year internship within the Adjudication Services Division, National Land Agency.

The successful candidate will report to the legal officer 3

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Interviews landowners in order to determine ownership rights in accordance with The Registration of Titles Cadastral Mapping and Tenure Clarification (Special Provisions) (Amendment) Act.
  • Interviews neighbours and community members in order to get confirmation that the landowner has been in open, undisturbed and undisputed possession of land for upwards of Twelve (12) years.
  • Inputs data in the Systematic Adjudication System (SAS) in order to facilitate generation of Systematic Adjudications, Supporting Declarations, Adjudication Records etc.
  • Thoroughly vets data on the SAS to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Execute searches (Certificates of Title/Instruments/Documents etc.) on Eland Jamaica, Land Valuation System (LVS) and Document Scanning System.
  • Assists in mounting the display of Adjudication Records.

Required Competencies:
The post-holder must be able to demonstrate:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of Conveyancing and Laws relating to land registration.
  • Competence in the use of word processing, spreadsheet and other relevant software.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in law, Land Surveying/GIS, Geography, Urban Planning; or
  • Associate Degree or Paralegal Diploma
Special Conditions Associated with the Job
  • Extensive fieldwork in rural parishes (Manchester and Saint Elizabeth)
  • Extensive walking and travelling throughout communities within rural parishes.
Accommodation (Mondays to Fridays) and transportation will be provided.

Senior Customer Service Officer (Kingston) - National Land Agency

 Job Description: 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant post of Senior Customer Service Officer within the Business Services Division, National Land Agency.

Job Purpose: Provides customer service support to the organization by dealing satisfactorily with customers’ queries in a timely manner and providing customers with information on the products and services of the Agency.

Key Responsibilities: Management/Administrative Responsibilities

  • Supports the implementation of policies and procedures among staff
  • Participates and provides expertise as a member of the customer service’s departmental team.
  • Receives inquiries from and/or contacts the organization’s branch/regional offices to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Ensures the provision of quality service to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintains customers’ records by updating account information on License Agreements.
  • Evaluates customers’ needs and makes recommendations for improvement as is necessary.
  • Provides assistance to customers requesting electronic search for plans, customized data etc.
  • Facilitate mapping data to customers in a physical or spatial format.
  • Monitoring and assisting with the provision of sales targets related to mapping solutions.
  • Provide information on mapping activities to enhance marketing and public relations efforts.
  • Participates in the preparation of routine correspondence to customers.
  • Addresses customers’ queries, complaints and requests in relation to the Agency’s products         and services.
  • Assists with public education/outreach programmes conducted by the Agency.
  • Acts as liaison between customers and other divisions/branches.
  • Provides assistance in the training of junior staff.

Minimum Required Education and Experience:

  • Diploma in Business Administration/Communication or related field
  • Five (5) CXC/GCE O’ Level subjects including English Language and a numeric subject
  • Three (3) years related working experience
  • Certificate in Paralegal Studies

Remuneration Package:

Salary Range: $1,378,381- $1,493,340 p.a.

Motor vehicle Travel Allowance: $894,924 p.a.
