The Job:

The Administrative Officer is responsible for providing administrative and secretarial services to support the effective and efficient operations of the Department. The Officer ensures the confidentiality and integrity of data and information while exercising judgement and professionalism in the execution of all functions associated with the position.

Qualifications & Experience: 
  • NVQ-J Level 5 certification or Bachelor's degree or the equivalence in discipline such as Business/Management Studies, Public Administration, Organisational Development or Industrial Psychology
  • At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a comparable position in relevant industries such as: higher education, training or financial

Key Duties:

  • Assists with the preparation of reports such as annual/monthly, variance and other 
  • Ensures timely submission of mandatory PBMA reports in keeping with the GOJ regulatory requirements

The Job:

The Instructor is responsible for training, assessment and monitoring of Tvet trainees to ensure the acquisition of the requisite competencies for their respective qualification.

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • A Bachelor's Degree, its equivalent NVQ Level 5 or other equivalent qualification in your area of specialization.
  • At least two (2) years relevant work experience in a comparable position such as in a technical high school,  polytechnic college, a community college, a formal apprenticeship training workplace, or the training unit of a large organization.
  • Knowledge in IT, equipment, machinery/tools that the job required

The Job:


The Storekeeper is responsible for receiving and distributing goods and supplies, maintaining the inventory system and 
assisting with the processing of orders for income.

Qualifications and Experience: 
  • NVQ-J level 2 Certification or equivalent in disciplines such as: Purchasing, Inventory Management, Basic Accounting, Information Technology and Time Management.
  • At least two (2) years' relevant work experience in a comparable position and business/work environment such as: public administration, commercial operations, or education institutions.
Key Competencies:

Key Duties:

  • Sources items for purchasing.
  • Maintains re-order level for all inventory items and makes requisitions for purchasing accordingly.

The Job:

  • The Driver is responsible for operating vehicles to transport goods, people, documents and other items and also assists in the coordination of functions. The job holder is also responsible for the timely delivery of correspondences.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • A General Driver's License with a minimum weight of 7000 kg.
  • NVQ-J Level 2 in Automotive Operation and Basic Maintenance or the equivalent.
  • At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a comparable position in a business/work environment such as a transportation service company.

Career Service Officer (Clarendon, Jamaica) - HEART NSTA Trust

Career Service Officer

The Job:

The Career Service Officer is responsible for facilitating the effective and efficient delivery of career services to participants in the parish. The Officer will achieve this by assisting with the implementation of various intervention strategies to include psychosocial, emotional and career development training for the target population and participants. The officer also assists with the planning and staging of career fairs and marketing activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NVQ-J Level 5 Certification or Bachelor's degree in Career Guidance and Counselling/Education or related discipline.
  • At least two (2) years' relevant experience ideally should be gained from an industry/environment similar to what prevails at HEART/NSTA Trust.

Keys Duties:
  • Coordinates the career services offered to participants.
  • Facilitates career policy implementation at the local level/comunity level.
  • Provides career guidance and counselling to participants.
  • Implement employability skills programmes for selected intervention.
  • Conducts preliminary diagnostics and refers participants to different career development opportunities/streams.
  • Works with external stakeholders in advancing the careers of participants.
  • Collates data gathered from interventions including interviews and workshops to inform policy development.
  • Updates and maintains database systems ensuring confidentiality is always maintained.
  • Provides counselling services to target groups and manages information with the highest level of confidentiality.
NB: This is a travelling position and as such, all applicants MUST possess a reliable motor vehicle and a valid drivers' licence.

Camp Counselor (Trelawny & St. Ann, Jamaica) - HEART/N.S.T.A Trust

The HEART/ National Service Training Agency Trust (HEART/NSTA Trust), a statutory Organisation mandated to co-ordinate and facilitate the training, assessment and certification of the Jamaica workforce to International standards, invites applications for the position of:

Camp Counsellor (eight (8) weeks contract, four (4) positions)

HOPE/NACP Residential Camp

Trelawny and St. Ann

The Camp Counselor is responsible for implementing the counselling programme to enhance the vocational selection, personal and social development of trainees.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NVQ-J Level 5 Certification, Bachelors Degree or equivalent disciplines such as: Career Development/Counselling, Social Work, Workplace Training and Industrial/Counselling Psychology, Human Resource (HR) Development and Industrial Training any other related disciplines.
  • At least three (3) years' relevant experience work experience in a comparable position or business/work environment such as: HR Division of any large Organization, a major employment bureau, a tertiary TVET Institution, an employer Polytechnic/University Career Placement Department or a Ministry of Labour Department.

Key Duties:
  • Provides guidance for trainees on matters involving educational, vocational, or personal/social problems.
  • Conducts individual and group counselling and makes referral to external agencies where necessary.
  • Evaluates and conducts appropriate counselling for poor performers or underachievers.
  • Develops and administers programme for employability skills.
  • Conduct dorm visits as necessary.
  • Develops appropriate counselling strategies and methods to enhance learning.
  • Assists with planning  and coordinating career expositions, job fairs, workshops and field trips to help trainees gain insight and employment within their chosen career.
  • Plans and coordinates job readiness programme to prepare trainees for the work of work.
  • Maintains records of trainees' attendance to the scheduled sessions.
