The Electoral Commission of Jamaica invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following position:  Registration Clerk (PIDG/RIM 3) - St. Andrew Southern.

Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating the day activities of the Constituency Office, to include smooth operation in the processing of electors' application for Registration and the issue of electors' identification cards.

Core Duties

  • Provides potential electors with information and assistance in completing the registration procedures.
  • Enters, electronically or manually, registration data of applicants.
  • Visits electors' residences for verification purposes.
  • Collates and summarizes daily activities for presentation  to the manager.
  • Ensures that information obtained is used only for registration purposes (confidentially).
  • Provides daily, to the Manager the prescribed forms, sheets and reports.
  • Ensures that all machines are used for the sole purpose of voter registration or I.D. card distribution - and in accordance with security and control procedures.
  • Ensures that all RRC Forms and supporting documents are accurately completed.

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience
  • Five (5) CSEC subjects at grades one (1), two (2) or three (3) inclusive of English Language and Mathematics.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in data entry.
  • Working knowledge of standard computer applications.
Salary Band: $ 2,190,302 - $ 2,945,712 per annum

Job Summary

The incumbent is accountable to the Office Manager in the daily operations of the Constituency Office to ensure the accurate collection and digitization of information from potential electors in support of the Commission's mandate, vision and major targets.

  • Enters, electronically or manually, registration data of applicants
  • Visits electors' residences for verification purposes
  • Collates and summarizes daily activities for presentation to the manager

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Five (5) CXC/CSEC subjects at grades 1, 2 or 3 inclusive of English Language and Mathematics
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in data entry
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications

The Electoral Commission of Jamaica  invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following:

Office Manager

Location: St. Andrew North Central Constituency Office

Core Functions:

  • Prepares for submission to the Returning Officer, daily records with respect to voter registration
  • Assumes responsibility for the day-to-day administrative functions of the office
  • Assigns workers in ways to ensure accurate and timely collection and processing of elector data
  • Participates in the processing of electors registration
  • Monitors work in the office to ensure the delivery of elector's I.D. cards in accordance with procedures
  • Visits electors' at their homes in an effort to very addresses given during the registration process
Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Associate degree in Business/Management Studies or equivalent qualifications
  • Training/experience in supervisory management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
Remuneration: $986,421 - $1,172,544 per annum 
Upkeep Allowance at the applicable rate.

Registration Clerk - St. Mary Western Constituency 

Core Duties:
  • Provides potential electors with information and assistance in completing the registration procedure 
  • Enters, electronically or manually, registration data of applicants 
  • Visits electors' residences for verification purposes 
  • Collate and summarizes daily activities for presentation to the manager 
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Core Duties:
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Returning Officer/Assistant Returning Officer is responsible for:

  • Managing the constituency and constituency office(s)
  • Conducting monthly constituency meetings with political party representatives to advise on EOJ's policies and procedures 
  • Coordinating and assisting in residence verification of electors 
  • Preparing election plans, determining and confirming Polling Station locations
  • Determining and writing descriptions for constituency, electoral and polling division boundaries 
  • Managing the process of elector surveys and all election related activities within the constituency 
  • Confirming dead electors to be removed from Voters List 
  • Conducting elections and all related processes 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Studies, Public Administration or equivalent 
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience at the middle management level 
  • Experience in or knowledge of electoral process would be an asset 
  • Applicants should preferably be living and/or working in the constituency 
  • Must own or operate a reliable motor vehicle 
Secretary  - Region 1
Based in Port Antonio 


Core Functions:

  • Handling of incoming and outgoing correspondences and telephone calls 
  • Maintenance of adequate levels of stationery and office supplies within the Unit
  • Coordination of meetings 
  • Attending meetings and taking minutes for reproduction 
  • Preparation of general correspondence 
Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Five (5) CXC/CSEC or GCE O' level subjects inclusive of English Language and Mathematics and with passes at grades 1, 2 or 3
  • Diploma or certificate in Secretarial/Administrative Studies from an accredited institution 
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience at a similar level 
  • Designation of Certified Professional Secretary  (CPS) is desirable 
Remuneration: $715,412 - $850,400 p. a.
